Dogtra Tom Davis 280C E-Collar product photo

The Dogtra 280C is the Tom Davis edition: a 1/2-mile e-collar with 127 correction levels, a customizable Boost button, a Safety Level Lock and a quick-fit bungee collar, sized for dogs 10 lbs and up. It is the compact unit built around pro-trainer workflow.

Pros

  • Customizable Boost button for instant recall jumps
  • Safety Level Lock prevents accidental changes
  • Compact - fits dogs down to 10 lbs
  • IPX9K waterproof with a quick-fit bungee collar
  • Receiver-only add-a-dog option on the 2.0

Cons

  • 1/2-mile range, shorter than the 1900 series
  • Boost/Lock workflow is a learning curve for beginners
  • Tom Davis branding, not the plain X-series layout

Who the 280C is for

Co-designed with trainer Tom Davis, the 280C targets owners who want the Boost-and-Lock workflow on a compact receiver that fits dogs as small as 10 lbs (neck 12 inches and up). Boost gives an instant, preset jump in stimulation for recall; the Safety Level Lock stops accidental level changes mid-session. It shares its size class with the X-series 280X, but the two are different lines - see 280C vs 280X.
